Analogue modeling- Closer to being finished.

West facade with membrane lifted to allow solar gain in winter. Photo-chromatic printing on window would also allow shading to the interior and the layering of glazing allows ventilation through louvres.


Points of tension between the balconies in winter and the membrane shift seasonally. In summer the membrane would be lowered allowing the pressured pillows to act as a thermal barrier to the harsh west sun.

There is the potential that the occupant can control their comfort through operating the facade.


Elevation of the western buildings allow vegetation to run underneath.The earth also acts as an insulation barrier for noise from the sound stages below and keeps the comfort of teaching areas at a constant through cross ventilation of the thermal mass floors in summer.



Interior views inside the administration building are softly lit with the diffused lighting of the membrane. Glazed meetings rooms suspended between the floor plates are kept cool and private through the use of screening vegetation. 

The woven facade mimics the grid of the monolithic columns. The structure ducks and weaves itself into compression to the sound stages which act as an anchor. Cross bracing is used to prevent racking and also houses fine natives vines to form green walls.



The east facades receive morning daylight through the scattering of glazed facades. In summer the photo-chromatic printing would allow the filtering of heat onto the floors.




The smaller layering of lecture theater seating and double facades with circulation throughout aid ventilation through directing airflow up the ramps.





The large expansive roof volume is thermal protected through the use of air pressured pillows in the membrane. Inflation through Summer occurs as there is less rain to be captured also. In winter the membrane can be deflated to create a surface in which to capture water and syphonically remove it to the rainwater tanks on the site.
